Merriam-Webster defines identity politics as politics in which groups of people having a racial, religious, ethnic, social, or cultural identity tend to promote their own specific interests or concerns without regard to the interests or concerns of any larger political group.  Identity politics are a persistent part of the American narrative, as they would be…

May 2019 Quote of the Month

Life isn't fair? Then, make it fair!

April 2019 Quote of the Month

I am a socialist; of course I am a socialist. To hold a vision that society can be fundamentally different, to believe that all people can be equal - that is not a new idea. --Bernie Sanders

[Repost] How Catholic Bishops Are Shaping Health Care In Rural America

In a growing number of communities around the country, especially in rural areas, patients and physicians have access to just one hospital. And in more and more places, that hospital is Catholic. That sounds innocuous — a hospital is a hospital, after all. But Catholic hospitals are bound by a range of restrictions on care…

Hey guys! We're back this month with a month-long study piece. We're going to be focusing on WWII and on how in two instances on opposite sides of the world, unspeakable crimes were committed against fellow human beings with little thought from its perpetrators. We're going to explore how morality can be suspended and thought hijacked and how we can prevent another Holocaust from happening. To do that, we are going to look at Germany and Japan during WWII and also discuss some ways in which our psychology renders us vulnerable to this sort of mass hypnosis. Hopefully, you will begin to recognise the signs of such hatred and intolerance today and not fall prey to the ever-insistent river of fear.

[Update] Irregular Schedule

We will be on an irregular schedule from here until the end of May. We may not upload every month and we will upload things as we finish them. Thank you for visiting our website.

It’s 2018

It's been a year since Outlet came into being and we just want to say Happy New Years. It's been an eventful year and several irreversible changes have taken place in the world. Outlet hasn't been active for a lot of 2017 but we've always been keenly aware of the changes in the world. As…

[Update] On Hiatus and Some Updates

Once again, we’re going to go on a hiatus at least until midterms are over with and we can once again stabilise our time. We are all high-achieving students at different stages of our education and school, family and work remain our highest priorities so we must focus on satisfying those demands before freeing our focus to work on this website. I hope we can get this website back on its feet once this rough patch is over and thank you for your continued support.

[Update] A New Writer! An introductory post by adri3000

Hello everyone! I just thought I'd make a quick blog post introducing myself, as opposed to you guys just seeing a random post from a new person. My name is Adriana (I also like to go by Adri) and I’m a senior in high school from a small city in Ohio. I’ve always loved writing,…

So I just wrote an article and published it. Then, I clicked on the article I just published. IT WAS BLANK! And there was no way I could recover my work. So I have to rewrite it. It wasn't a problem with my computer but WP just completely erased my post! What the heck! I…

So... I decided to post my story after all. First chapter is going up today on another site that I'm made as a "subsite" of sorts. It's called Outlet for Stories. I will post there on an irregular schedule but if you're in the mood for stories, head on over there. There's not going to…
